Aaron Sorkin wrote the brilliant 2010 adaptation that became The Social Network, and Steve Jobs might as well be it’s sequel. Once again, Sorkin shines a light on a revered public figure who changed the world, but might not have been such a prince behind the curtain.
We’re not sure about Michael Fassbender in the title role, but the film, directed by Oscar-winner Danny Boyle – adapted from Walter Isaacson’s best-selling biography Steve Jobs – has it’s first trailer, and it’s a tense one.
Kate Winslet plays ex-Macintosh marketing chief Joanna Hoffman, while Jeff Daniels portrays former Apple CEO John Sculley. The film also stars Katherine Waterston as Chrisann Brennan, Jobs’ ex-girlfriend, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Andy Hertzfeld, one of the original members of the Apple Macintosh development team.
The movie, which is divided into three parts — each before one of Apple’s notorious product launches — hits theaters on October 9.
