The Witch- Trailer

Remember back in January when Robert Eggers won “Best Director” at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival for his film The Witch? Yeah, me either. That’s because in an act of (in my opinion) brilliance, Eggers quickly and quietly sold his film to A24 and no one else got to see it unless you saw it at Sundance. (After doing some research it appears the film was sold even before it played Sundance which just goes to show that A24 doesn’t mess around when they see something they think has the goods). In fact after Sundance the only lingering memory or scene from the film was from those that saw it there and wondered if it ever really happened. That is until today.

Up top there you can watch the trailer for The Witch and while you’re at it, get behind me in line to see this the moment I get a chance. It looks completely amazing and terrifying. I’m not one for pull-quotes from colleagues but every single quote used in that trailer is from someone I know who has excellent taste and doesn’t go for hyperbole. While you’re at it, check out the films website which is not only super cool it’s also pretty damned creepy. The only bummer is we have to wait until 2016 to The Witch and frankly, that’s just not fair.
