Ed and Lorraine Warren are back and they’re taking their zany, analytical ghost hunting overseas to London in The Conjuring 2! Man, I should be writing PR for the big screen, not just doing their job for them from a laptop atop a children’s desk in Northern California. Since that’s not going to happen, I’ll just keep sharing the latest and greatest movie news to you all at Flick Nation. Works for me!
Above is the trailer for The Conjuring 2, the inevitable sequel to the incredibly spooky 2013 film from director James Wan. I loved the first The Conjuring and was frankly exhausted by the time the credits rolled. Sure, it was a little too heavy on the jump-scares but I felt James Wan’s direction was masterful. Now he’s back as are Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as the based-on-real-life husband wife team of paranormal investigators and they have some new ghosts to conjure. British ghosts, baby!
Now, granted, that’s just a little teaser trailer but it looks….just o.k. Kinda heavy on The Sixth Sense vibe but some cool, unique visuals as well. Nothing like a creepy zoetrope, I always say. Still, I trust Wan who seems to really get old-school scary movies (he also directed the first Saw movie and that franchise is his baby along with Insidious 1 & 2. He’s also directing Aquaman apparently and that sounds scary) and the imagery here shows that; upside down crosses, anyone? I’m sure more trailers are forthcoming and the film drops this June. Should be a fun way to kick off the summer movie season.
