Batman v. Superman Turkish Airlines . Wait, what? (Trailer?)

Sigh. More weird ass marketing from DC Comics for their upcoming Batman VS Superman: The Dawn of Justice movie. First we had the truly strange “trailer” featuring Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) measuring their ding-dongs before Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) pops in to break the intense sexual tension. It just wasn’t really a trailer inasmuch a really oddly chosen scene from the movie. But, whatever. They made it a little better and more traditional the next time.

But today, prior to the Super Bowl, DC Comics unveiled a partnership with Turkish Airlines who frankly, I’ve never heard of before. Granted, I’m not an airplane junkie or anything but these ads aren’t doing a single thing to help Turkish Airlines and in fact, I refuse to google them to see if they are in fact a real airline and that’s my issue with these ads.

First off, as noted, I remain unclear as to whether or not Turkish Airlines is a real airline. That’s because they have fictional characters Bruce Wayne (again, Affleck) and Lex Luthor (again, Eisenberg) flying on their jets. The commercials also encourage us to visit Gotham City and Metropolis which are fictional places. Furthermore, I really don’t want to fly anywhere Lex Luthor flies nor do I want to be on an airplane with that psycho. So, why is the greatest criminal mastermind in DC Comics history pimping a commercial jet company and looking incredibly douchey doing it? Ugh. Again, I don’t know and I don’t get it.
