J.K. Simmons Is the New Commissioner Gordon

As the world prepares for just exactly what Batman Versus Superman: Dawn of Justice is going to be like, the DC Comics movie universe is still plugging along with director Zack Snyder at the helm. The Hollywood Reporter broke news this week that the upcoming Justice League (Ie; DC Comics The Avengers) films will feature surly grouch J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. Honestly, that’s pretty solid casting even if he already played J. Jonah Jameson in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films.

You may have noticed I said Justice League “films” up there and that’s because the film is a two-parter set for November 2017 and June 2019 releases, respectively. Obviously the triumvirate of Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill) and Wonder Woman (Gal Godot) will be in the mix the film will also feature other Justice League stalwarts like Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyclops (Ray Fisher) and The Flash who will be played by the awesome Ezra Miller. Yes, Ezra Miller and not Grant Gustin who plays The Flash on the increasingly popular WB TV show of the same name. Yes, same character, two different actors. Why? Who knows! Which seems to be the going backstory for the DC Comics movieverse.
