Classic Movie Trailer: Porky’s (1982)

PORKYS

Flick Nation Presents … a selection of curated classic movie trailers.

And when we say “classic,” that doesn’t mean the movie was necessarily good, but has endured the test of time. Sure, maybe it’s one of the greatest flicks ever … or maybe it’s a movie that’s so awesome that it should have endured. Either way, consider the next two minutes of your life as homework for your streaming queue.

Being fifteen years old in 1982 was a glorious thing. There was an explosion of new media, video games, music videos … and raging post-pubescent myopia. Every kid asked themselves the same questions. Am I just a horny freak of nature or is everyone as riled up as I am?

Fortunately, Bob Clark’s seminal comedy Porky’s (1982) arrived on the scene to answer that question.

Porky’s was a refreshingly frank comedy about sex that didn’t shy away from the good stuff. It single-handedly (ahem) kicked off a series of 80s sex comedies, not to mention a number of sequels that included Porky’s II: The Next Day (1983), Porky’s Revenge! (1985), and Pimpin’ Pee Wee (2009). Without Porky’s, there may never have been a Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) or American Pie (1999).

And yeah, that’s Sex and the City‘s Kim Cattrall getting turned on by… well, you’ll see.

Fun fact: Bob Clark’s follow-up to his debauched sex romp was the holiday classic A Christmas Story.
